The princeton review book says that these two exams, if taken in the same year, would require only one exam fee. Is this true? If so, how hard would self studying AP micro be if you had AP Macro in school?

No. You gotta pay for both. Both tests are easy. Self studying is fine.

Yeah stupidkid’s right. you have to pay separately for both. but well worth it, very easy tests. the MC section is worth like 70% of the test so you really have to know ur stuff and you cant just bs your way through the FR section for a high score. but since you took macro, you should be well prepped. The only thing is micro is completely different from macro, different subjects. micro deals with specific markets and market types i.e. Pure competition (agriculture), monopolistic competition (clothing industry), oligopoly, and monopoly. but same deal with graphs and stuff, its just that there are different graphs that you have to learn and probably the most annoying part is game theory (which involves competing firms) and Consumer behavior (marginal benefit = marginal cost).

PUMA (by the way, I love pumas lol):

TAKE MICRO. Get the PR book. Once your like halfway through Macro, start reading up on micro. I did this, and got a 5 on both.

Micro was AMAZINGLY simple. I took a one semester macro course and after we learned most of the graphs and basics, i started studying with a terribly old kaplan micro/macro book. then about two weeks before the test, i borrowed PR’s new one. it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

EVvvvverything on the test was in the micro section, even some of the FRQ’s were explained word for word.

If money is an issue (assuming your school doesnt pay for exams) then think about the micro test from the college credit standpoint. i’ve found that many colleges limit how much credit you can get from AP tests and such. if you’re at the limit, maybe you shouldnt take it. if you aren’t its a good investment.

Is it a good idea for a freshman to take this class online?

Seeing how online courses… are… extremely easy (my two friends finished a semester in a day). Take it. It’ll give you a GPA boost, give you some interesting knowledge, and it’s very easy. Just don’t procrastinate.

Macro’s harder than Micro, IMO
