AP Macro/Micro Econ

Just curious, are these 2 AP tests really the joke I've heard some people on this board describe them as? I'm interested because if they really don't take that much time to learn, I'd be definitly interested in self-studying for them, but I don't have much time to learn an extremely comprehensive course like AP bio was last year, since I'm already self studying for Physics C and Comp Sci AB(this one should be fairly easy though since I took A last year).

Appreciate the info

There are definately not a joke. According to statistics only about 10% get 5s on these. I am taking it right now, and you probobly need 7 hours peer week with a good book. If you are really interested in self studying a joke try AP Human geography!

or ap physics....

no I don't think so..

I'm actually fairly confident in my ability to self study for Physics C, my friend took it last year self study, got a 5 and said it was mostly combining his knowledge from a regular physics class and the knowledge from his AP calc class.

if you have a good textbook, and motivation you can get a five in ANY AP exam. People say that that the exam is hard, or unfair, but it all lies in your ability to motivate yourelf.

Well you can't take Macro/Micro for one price anymore, if that's why you mention them together. As far as I know, the two classes are very distinct.

And personally, I haven't taken the test, but my teacher's tests are extremley difficult (they're ALL really confusing application questions), and his students do quite well on the exam, I've heard. So, I dunno, I've heard of people taking Macro and self-studying Micro, but never self-studying both.

Economics is weird, have you ever taken a course on it? I haven't until this year (AP Macro) and it's different from any course I've taken. It's a TRUE "Social Science." Very scientific, in my opinion, and that's what makes it hard. Things are isolated and it makes it confusing for me to comprehend, which is where a teacher comes in handy, of course.

So, yeah, this point was useless because I don't know if it'd be easy or not to self study. Definitely not an easy class for me, though.
