How long does it take to successfully study AP Micro and Macro? I am interested in economics and I would like to self-study both.

Also, what books would you recommend? I've heard great things about PR and 5 steps to a 5. Any recommendations from people who actually got a 5 would be very helpful.

I have experience with Barron’s and PR. I tend to prefer PR but Barron’s is also an excellent resource as well. 5 Steps to a 5 and Kaplan’s are also good ones to use.

Preferred AP prep book is definitely Barron’s or PR. Their practice tests are great and the information is concise yet informative.

Last year, I started studying around this time and got a 4 in Micro and a 5 in Macro. Generally, Macro is easier (for me it was anyway) and concepts learned in Macro help understand Micro, but it doesn’t really matter.

I just started self studying Macro/Micro last week with PR. Very concise and informative, should be enough to get 5’s on both exams if you can grasp the concepts and remember the graphs.

Thanks for the replies. If I start studying about late March-early April (about a month or so before the exams), would that be ample time to self-study? If I do this, should I spend like an hour a night on each subject?
