I was thinking about self-studying this topic. Any suggestions or advice? Any resources that you guys know of that I should use?

Still double minded about this one because it will be online, it will be senior year, and I will be taking it along with Lit and AP Human Geo and Gov which are both being done online aswell.

I’m also self-studying macroeconomics online. Any suggestions for prep books?

This year I decided to self-study Micro ( I got a 4), and for my senior year I will self study Macro. I heard relatively macro is much easier due to the plethora of graphs in Micro( I can attest to that). If you are going to do both, I would strongly recommend Barron’s Micro/Macro, to save you money, and it did a decent job on helping me. Only problem is that it only has one practice test for each and its FRQs are not the best.

I’m taking Macro next year, I feel like we should separate these two threads…

MODERATOR’S NOTE:

Based upon traffic in prior years, it is not necessary.

I landed this class first semester! I wanted it second… Really hyped!

I have both Macro and Micro in addition to a ton of IB courses. I think this year is going to be by far my most stressful year…

also planning to self study macro and/or micro. any advice anyone?

Hello all! I’ll be taking AP Micro in school this year, but I’m planning on self-studying AP Macro alongside it. The more potential college credit, the better! I’m planning on using both the Princeton Review book and the Barrons book to self-study. Since I’m already taking AP Micro and I have review books, is it necessary for me to order a textbook for AP Macro in order to get a 4/5?

@gonewiththeair last year I used Barrons book to study Macroeconomics and I got a 4 on the AP exam. I don’t think you’ll need additional text books

As a self studier of Macro and Micro from last year, I don’t think the PR is a good idea, it felt like it didn’t really cover much content.

I personally liked the Crash course books, but Barron’s and 5 Steps should be good too.

Taking Macro too!

@slothrevolution & @silmaril thank you both so much! I’ll definitely get Barrons then, and I’ll look into 5 Steps & Crash Course.

Taking college Macro this year but still want to take the AP test. Any suggestions?

Second week of school, and my teacher has openly stated he doesn’t believe in homework, and we haven’t even gotten our textbooks yet.

@michelle426 Why couldn’t teachers have that attitude in elementary school?

Maybe you should talk to your GC about it.

@TheSlacker16 I personally don’t have a problem with it :stuck_out_tongue: We haven’t gotten our textbooks yet because of the equipment shortage in the history department.

To say what? That the teacher does not give homework? If the teacher can effectively teach the material within the confines of the academic period and have a high pass rate on the AP exam, more power to him/her. That’s at least better than teachers assigning busywork just so they can say they assign homework.
