Next year i will be a senior. Thus far in high school i have taken 3 APs: World History, English Language, and APUSH. Next year i know i will be taking AP Calc AB and AP English Literature. My question is: my school offers AP Gov/Macroeconomics where the class is half gov half econ. The teacher from what i hear is a terrible teacher and the economics is insane especially. I looked and saw that it had the lowest average of any AP. Is it worth getting that lower grade than compared to honors, especially when i need a GPA Boost. My concern is first that the teacher is poor so it will be a GPA killer and a waste of time, and second that it will bad and as if i was slacking off senior year taking a non-AP social studies. Help would be appreciated. I dont want to be overwhelmed by the class, but i right now dont feel like the pros outweigh the cons. Again thank you.

Can you take economics as an independent study? I switched from a normal econ class to an IS and it's been the best decision I've made all high school.
