Bombed dictations, as expected. The aural multiple-choice was kind of hard but the regular multiple choice and the composition were really easy.

Hoping for a 5, obviously, but I’d just be happy if I passed since this was my first AP ever. :)

Are we allowed to start talking about the level of difficulty of the exam? I don’t want to get tracked down… This was my first AP too…

I thought it was… BLEH. Harmonic dictation wasn’t bad, melodic dictation was FAIL though. Double fail for me, because I have perfect pitch! For a few notes I ended up making up rhythms that sounded good. And, being the nervous freshman I am, I forgot accidentals - go me!

I think the aural MC portion of the exam simply killed me. It just kept bullying at my weak spots. Non-aural wasn’t bad. Overall, I wouldn’t say the AP test was good. It was hard. But my perspective of things might be slightly abnormal, because I’m the type of person that is used to getting A+'s on every test… And AP’s aren’t like that. Now I know not to underestimate APs.

Anyways, I hope the curve is good. I thought the test was a lot harder than any practice test I had ever taken. I got 5’s on EVERY practice test, but I don’t know what to expect for this one… A 5? Maaaybe. 4? 3? 2? I really have no idea.

Yeah we can talk about the exam in pretty much any way; as long as you don’t like post the exact voice leading stuff or sight singing stuff there’s not much to worry about. I don’t see how they could get you for talking about the aural stuff anyway considering they’re all meaningless without the excerpts.
In anyway talk about whatever, I highly doubt collegeboard will “get” you and everyone else does it here and no one’s been abducted yet.

since we can talk about the music, i know that the bass aria was Bach B minor mass. i think there was some mozart serenades, perhaps string quintet? what was the orchestral piece? prokofiev something, or another modern composer? any word on the tribal stuff yet?

Is the curve generous enough to allow a 5 if I know the multiple choice aural section was FAIL and for melodic dictation 1 I didn’t get half of the rhythmic notation so I started making up random rhythms that worked and sounded okay and for melodic dictation 2 I did the same thing as melodic dictation 1 AND I somehow forgot the accidentals?
