What text are you using for your AP Theory Class, I believe we're going to use Hindemiths (spelling) Elementary Training for Musicians and Theory Book. Does any one suggest any prep books?

We used "Tonal Harmony" by Kostka. It is really great for everything except the aural portion of the examination. The book does provide examples of concepts and cadences; however, it does not aim to teach you to learn music aurally. We used another textbook for aural training that I have forgetten the name of.

We used this one: Amazon.com: Music in Theory and Practice Vol 1 w/ Anthology CD: Bruce Benward, Marilyn Saker: Books

I took AP theory as an independent study, and the manual I was told to use was "Theory Essentials" by Connie Mayfield. The workbook was very helpful for part-writing exercises, but I felt like I wasn't really as ready at analyzing music. I'm still waiting on my scores though... :-I
