Ap or dual enrollment

Does a community college dual enrollment count as an ap class?

Nope. AP classes have specific curriculums and most often give you a better weighted gpa then dual enrollment classes.

Yea at my school AP is weighted at 1.1 and college classes used to be weighted at 1.05, the same as an honors class. But now my school doesn’t put college classes on our transcript anymore, so I’m going to have to send a college transcript as well. The class I’m taking this fall will be my 7th college class.

If I take a dual enrollment class can i take the ap exam in that subject?does the dual enrollment class cover the same topic as the ap class?

Yeah, you can take AP tests without taking the corresponding classes.
The college class and the AP test might not cover exactly the same material, though. You’d have to get syllabi and compare them.

For instance if take college chem and take the ap chem test does it count as self study? And thanks for all your answer.

Well… you didn’t study it by yourself, so it isn’t by definition.
