Is it fine to AP out of One 1ST Year Writing Seminar? Do most people do that?

It varies by college, but in general I think you are only allowed to AP out of one writing seminar anyway (with a 5 in either Lit or Lang Comp)

DO IT, but seriously after the first writing seminar I realized how upsetting it was to get a 4 on the AP exam and not be able to skip the second. They’re helpful but unless you love book discussions the second time around gets old quickly.

For CALS it looks like you only need a 4 to get credit. http://cals.cornell.edu/academics/upload/2012_AP_Placement.pdf, can you get out of both or only 1 writing seminar?

compare with CAS, which lists both lit and lang and specifies only 1 FWS credit.
[Credit and Placement](http://as.cornell.edu/information/orientation/credit.cfm)

So my guess would be CALS does allow both since they are listed seperately.

My D got out of the second FWS in CAS with her AP English Lit score. She also took AP Comp and the credits transferred in as electives.
