AP Physics 1 & 2: Rookie Test-takers of 2014!

So, as most of us know, the College Board is splitting the AP Physics exam into 1st year Physics 1 and Physics 2.

(From College Board)
Physics 1: Algebra-based. “Newtonian mechanics (including rotational dynamics and angular momentum); work, energy, and power; mechanical waves and sound. It will also introduce electric circuits.”

Physics 2: Algebra-based “The course covers fluid mechanics; thermodynamics; electricity and magnetism; optics; atomic and nuclear physics.”

I will be a senior next year and will, unfortunately, only be able to try out Physics 1. I haven’t taken physics before in HS…

So, any physics rookies out there excited/concerned?
How about AP physics veterans? New program good or bad idea??
