AP Physics 1 & 2

So I'm a freshman right now, and I'm only going to be in Geometry next year. But, I'm doubling up on sciences (biology and chemistry) to see if I can knock out my core classes earlier, and I was wondering if I can take AP Physics 1 and 2 next year. At first I was thinking about skipping a science to take AP Computer Science A next year, but then I found about the revamp on AP Physics and making the schedule algebra based instead. If I take Geometry and AP Physics 1 & 2 next year will it work out or will it be still too hard? Thanks.

bump bump bump

Why not double up on math so you can take AP calc and AP physics C your senior year? Also I’d assume one can’t take both AP Physics 1 & 2 during the same year unless one is offered each semester.

@Patton370 I thought AP Physics 1 & 2 was a one year class, so yeah. But I think I’ll do AP physics 1 Sophomore then AP Phyiscs 2 Junior Then AP physics C Senior Year (with AP Calc BC). Do you think that’ll work?

just let me warn you: i thought physics 1 honors was gonna be super easy and i almost wanted to skip ahead to ap physics b

but then i took the class, and no. thank the heavens i did not skip right to ap.

i don’t know you, but really physics is NO cake walk. i think a high school level physics class is important before taking ap physics.

So you’re taking Algebra 1 right now? I’m struggling with AP Physics and I’ve taken all the math classes required to fully understand the material. I can’t imagine taking it while only having basic algebra under my belt.

That’s what I thought. Apparently my high school offers either on-level or AP (no honors) Physics B/C in junior year/senior year respectively. Basically you have to do AP if you’re an honors science student.

lol i would still just take regular physics. there’s a math requirement for both regular and honors physics, at my school, so you can’t be an idiot in physics, either way. i think both regular and honors are trig based, so fairly difficult.

but omg rotational dynamics!!! death of me

what is torque i don’t even know but i took a test on it

Wait, I though AP Physics B is being split into two classes next year. Also is physics B a requirement to take physics C? Also I’m in physics B right now, and its my first physics class I’ve eve been in. Its not that bad, granted the class averaged a 65 on the test last week.
