ap physics 1 compared to ap physics b

I’m thinking about taking it next year. Is it easier since its basically half of the AP Physics B course?

I took bio honors and chem honors freshmen and sophomore year. Physics honors isn’t offered at my high school so I would be doing an AP class I have no background information with. Do you think I should opt for AP Chem/Bio instead?

I’m also taking AP Psychology next year. I’ve heard that pairing this with AP Bio can be very beneficial. Is this true?

I don’t think you’ll have anybody who has experience with both AP Physics B and AP Physics 1. AP Physics 1 is designed so that a previous course in physics is not required, so you’re OK there. I don’t think that it is any easier than AP Physics B. Although fewer topics are covered, the ones that are taught go into more depth, and the AP tests seem to be more conceptual. As far as the difficulty of the class itself, that is dependent upon the teacher.

Whether you should take AP Physics vs. AP Bio or AP Chem really depends upon your own interests and your potential college major. AP Bio and AP Psych might work well together, but AP Psych without AP Bio can be interesting on its own as well.
