Hello, next year I will be a sophomore taking physics honors. My school does not offer AP physics 1 or 2, so do you think it would be possible for me to study for the physics 1 or 2 exam while taking physics honors? Any test prep books anyone can recommend? Thank you!!
Bump, anyone know? :-/
Do you know what your honors physic curriculum covers? Does it cover the same things as AP like currents, waves, kinematics, critical thinking etc…
But I say try it. The main benefits of a class for physics are Lab assignments, forced critical thinking, helpful teachers and a lot of homework. But if you self study you should survive. Good luck!
Are you planning to take Physics C later on?
Talk to your physics teacher about the differences in the curriculum.
I would recommend it! but I would only really recommend physics 1, because it covers less things and I head it’s easier than physics 2 (from what my teachers tell me, don’t quote me). I’m taking physics honors as a junior next year because AP physics 1 isn’t offered at the moment, but I may self study for the AP physics 2 exam since I would be able to take AP physics 1 my senior year. it really depends on the material that is covered, I guess, and how easily I pick it up.
I will ask the physics teacher at my school about the curriculum. Even if there’s a bit that my class doesn’t cover, I’m confident that I could self-study the rest. Glad to know it could be doable! Anyone have any study books to suggest?
Idk about your school, but in mine AP Physics is for Juniors+ and Honors physics for sophomores. It’s the exact same class but a different name based on what grade you’re in.
