I am a junior and I took honors physics (basically most of the AP Physics 1 curriculum) last year, but I was really bad at it and I only understand about 30-40% of what we learned. The school placed me in AP Physics 2 this year, but I don’t know if I should stay. Does AP Physics 2 use any/a lot of AP Physics 1 material? Is AP Physics 1 or 2 easier? and would there be a learning curve for me in Physics 2?
Physics 2 presupposes knowledge of mechanics, which can be from AP Physics 1 or another intro physics course.
Maybe, but none of us knows you. If you did “bad” in honors physics because you did not understand the material after getting extra help and ended up with a C or lower, then yes, you’ll probably struggle. But if your definition of “bad” is a B+, then I would not anticipate a large learning curve.
