***AP Physics 1 Thread 2014-2015***

Which review book helped you guys the most?

@li8bulb 5 steps to a 5 since it was the only review book that was fully adapted to the new exam. Princeton was almost like a copy+paste from its AP Physics B book (though it was still helpful) and barron’s was still good, but it didn’t stress the concepts of the new exam as much as 5 steps to a 5 did.

Just took the late test. Failed. It was roughhhhhh.

@lolapz Were the FRQs on the late test harder than the released 2015 ones?

Here’s a video made by an AP Physics review book author(Dan Fullerton) that explains the answers to each FRQ

Ouch.

Reminder #2: Drops in AP score distributions can simply reflect the adding of new AP courses, not declines in experienced teachers’ classes.”

@appgodxoxo was he specifically talking about this class? If so, I’m worried about my score…

Well, we can only read what Trevor wrote, not what he thought. Presumably, he is referring to both the adding of new courses (e.g. Physics 1 and 2) as well as schools expanding their offerings.

@kgsoccer08 @skieurope I’m very scared too. Trevor mentioned one of the tests having a 4% 5 rate, and based off of the recent score distributions, I’m inclined to say that 4% is going to belong to AP Physics I.

Again,

Ouch.

How are you so smart? Are you Einstein reincarnate?

Ha, no. I am probably in the 50% of people who will fail this exam.
@DasaniPrinterID

@appgodxoxo A 4% 5 rate? That’s it. I’m screwed.

@appgodxoxo yeah that’s what I’m thinking too. I’ve been waiting for trevor to tweet about physics 1 for days. If it really is 4% I know I’m not getting that 5…

I would not read too much into this. I think Trevor was just trying to set expectations and was using the historical spread. I don’t think that he was referring to a specific 2015 test, since I don’t think they’ve all been graded. What Trevor actually said was:

PLEASE let no 2015 test have a 4% 5 rate.

All you can ever do is put in 100%

Whatever the case, the results for AP Physics 1 this year will be very ugly.

@appgodxoxo I agree. Don’t get me wrong, I know I have responsibility in the score that I get, but I just felt College Board didn’t give us enough resources to know what is supposed to be on the exam and practice. :confused: But of course that is my opinion. Plus 90% of the books didn’t even know what was on the exam.

Why would they have one of the biggest FRQs be on the one subject that was supposed to be covered the least in this course, electricity? That was really stupid.

WAIT, will the ap physics 1 late exam be graded and curved differently?
