AP Physics B after Honors Physics

Is this a good idea to directly take AP Physics B after Honors Physics (the physics sequence at my school is honors physics -> AP Physics C Mechanics so there's no AP Physics B)? Supposing I do buy another prep book like Barron's or something, how much more will I have to study to take AP Physics B? My reasons for this are various, but mostly it's to prove that I have an AP Physics exam for colleges to see before Senior Year (AP Physics C is only to seniors) and because I aspire to be the state AP scholar.

don’t take ap physics b in class.
waste of your time.
self study it
