AP Physics B or AP Physics C?

Hi! I’m a junior this year currently taking AP Chemistry. So I want to take AP Physics next year and our school just started offering AP Physics B as well as C. There’s a summer program over the year that serves as our Physics Honors prerequisite to take the AP class, since I’ve never taken a Physics class.
My dilemma is whether I should take B or C? (I know C requires calculus, I’m in Calc AB this year and I’m doing well in it and next year I’m going to take BC)

I was wondering what your guys’ opinion was…I heard B was easier but the teacher at my school is a worse teacher. C is supposedly harder but the teacher for this course is better. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Take C. You get college credits with physics C.

Take C, if you’re doing as well as you say in AB.

Take C it is more widely accepted and if you are excelling at calc, then you should be fine. It also helps that the teacher it better.

If the summer program also gives you the necessary prerequisites for Physics C, you should take that.

Beware, though, that B provides a greater overview to additional topics (like thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, atomic/nuclear physics, optics, waves, etc.) than does Physics C, but there is less depth on the topics that do overlap.

Also, is the Physics C course just mechanics (most probable) or half mechanics and half E&M? If it is both Mech and E&M, and you’ve never done physics before, that may be tougher for you.
