AP Physics B over the summer?

I'm a rising junior, planning on getting a headstart on physics b over the summer. I think I'll be getting the Princeton Review book to read over the summer, but wondering if that would be best saved for March come AP review season next year? I'm not sure what textbook my school uses, in any case I won't be allowed to check it out over the summer (I've asked my teacher) though I do know that my school uses an algebra based method though I've heard the book is pretty bad. I've read stuff about C&J and Giancoli- which one would be more straightforward and easier to self-study from just to get a headstart over the summer?

Thanks!

And also, are these the right books?

C&J: [Amazon.com: Physics (9780470223550): John D. Cutnell, Kenneth W. Johnson: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Physics-John-D-Cutnell/dp/0470223553/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1301264323&sr=8-2)

Giancoli: [Amazon.com: Physics: Principles with Applications (9780130606204): Douglas C. Giancoli: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Physics-Principles-Applications-Douglas-Giancoli/dp/0130606200)

I have the Fifth edition of the Giancoli book and it’s pretty good. It has more than what is on the AP exam in many instances but it is a good use for reference.

The Giancoli book you linked is the one that I’m using for AP Physics B for my students. We just finished covering the material in the text last week and started working with 5 Steps to a 5 this week.

I think Giancoli would be a tough book to handle on your own, especially if you haven’t had a physics course before.
