AP Physics B Post Exam Discussion [LOL FRQ]

So I thought the MC wasn't too bad at all. I got at least a 50/70 on it.

And then the FRQ? ***?

I knew how to do #1 with confidence. The rest were all like.. ***..

I think my composite was 77 at the lowest though.

You can convert your composite to a AP score here: Collegeboard Physics B Scoring Sheet

Soo.... your opinions all?

I agree with you completely. I consistently got 4s and 5s on practice exams, but on this one I will be lucky if I get a 3.

The MC was definitely harder than previous ones. I thought the FRQs weren’t bad. Definitely got some parts wrong but i think it was overall medium and may have got 1 or 2 questions completely correct.

Overall I thought the test was harder then previous exams… Do you think the curve will be different this year??

Maybe this is the year where they make Physics B much harder… I remember for AP Biology there was one year where the % of students getting 5’s went down drastically, and it has remained that way.

I agree that multiple choice was very difficult…I slipped up on the FRQs as well :/

I agree , think I got like around 50% FR maybe a little less with 50/70 mc, feeling so bad b/c 2009 exam my teacher gave me was so much easier

Number 3 was ridiculous. Number 2… Almost as ridiculous. I got a 65/80 on 2010 FRQ. And then they throw this at me. Lol.

In other news number 1 on FR was so easy. False hope ftw.

MC was pretty easy. I went through the test and had 19 that I was iffy on(straight guessed like 5?). More likely then not I got some wrong that I thought I had right, so Prob 20 wrong Max.

Free response was awful lol. Probably got 80% of the credit for 3 FRQs and probably 30-50% for the other 3.

I thought that the MC was so hard… FRQs were ok but on the #2 graph i didn’t know what to do :(

lol, that test

Definitely got #2/5 botched up…

I thought the MC was really difficult; many of the questions were very conceptual (hated those I, II, III questions). I actually didn’t think the free response was too bad. The only one I know I completely messed up on was #5. General consensus from my physics class was that this test was harder than usual.

Actually thought that was easier than all the practice tests our teacher gave us. Multiple Choice was definitely easy, finished with like 15 minutes left, but there was one question I’m almost positive had three right answers. FRQs were harder, and I didn’t finish the last one. What was the 2nd one about again? I remember spending a lot of time on it but dont remember what it was about (trying to calculate score)

1,3 and 4 were pretty good.

2 was bad, 5 was bad, 6 was semisemi

ChadBroChil17: I think I know that question you were talking about that had 3 answers that all looked right. If I answered it correctly and we are talking about the same question, I justified my answer by reasoning that one of them was a scalar quantity while the other two were vectors.

I actually thought I did number 1 wrong because I blitzed through it. I thought there was no way that everything could be one or two steps, but either I practiced a lot or got it flat wrong (I bet it’s the latter). Number two, I figured out, but I had no idea how to do the very last part. Then number six was hard too, or at least I thought it was. I definitely did not go over levels and stuff. Overall, I think I got a five, but I wouldn’t be surprised with a four.

Parts of #2 were just plain confusing and ambiguous…no idea what I was supposed to do. Pretty sure I got either a 3 or 4, but I have senioritis and I really couldn’t care less:)

I think I remember feeling good about #1,3,4. I thought it was harder than the sample we took. Probably because of no more -1/4 for wrong answers.

Burgerking daaaaammmmnnn you’re right, that has to be it. I swear I read that problem like ten times and it never dawned on me… I had potential energy first and then I changed to velocity because I figured they might have meant to say the masses were not equal or something… urrrgh

MC was a piece of cake as I was only unsure on four of them. FRQs were decent, but #2 was just insane confusing.
