I'm decideing to take AP Physics next year without taking physics what should i do over the summer to get a grip on the course
are there any college or other programs out there to help me?
also what book is the best to use for preping?

Do yourself a favor and get nagging at your teacher to get to electricity and magnetism. That is the key area in which our class got killed on the test because we really only had a superficial understanding of it.

Do either that, or try to get a grasp on mechanics early (Newtonian). That's the foundation of the course, along with the relationship between work and energy.

I just took the AP course this year without having taken any previous physics course. I was very worried b/c everyone said AP Phys B was one of the hardest APs... But don't worry!!

First of all, if your teacher's good (ask those who took the class) and covers everything, then you're set. All you have to do is review. IMO, teacher is everything in physics class; it's not like Bio/US History where you can self-teach...

If you want to do something over the summer, cover kinematics. Big portion of this year's AP was kinematics in multiple choice section. Get a firm grasp on it. If you want to study Newtonian mechanics, you can.. but I personally don't recommend it b/c i tried it by myself during the summer and spent agonizing hours trying to figure out a concept. I ask the teacher, and i understood it in a second...

The material isn't hard, it's just a lot of formulas and you just have to understand them. Once you're good at that, which you'll just aquire doing various problems, you'll be set. I had no physics knowledge either and I was fine.
