Currently I am taking AP Physics 1 as a junior. The thing is that the college I am applying to (Rutgers) only accepts AP Physics C credits for my major. Since the concepts are similar in Physics 1 and Physics C: Mechanics, would it be beneficial to take the Mechanics Exam this upcoming spring. The only issue is that I am in Pre-Calc therefore I do not have a solid basis in limits, derivative, or integrals, which are present in the exam. So, my question is, should I take the Mechanics exam THIS YEAR instead of the Physics 1 exam, or should I wait until NEXT YEAR to take the exam (by then I will be talking AP Calc)?
I would wait until next year to maximize your score. You need the calculus foundations to do well on the exam and therefore get college credit
