AP Physics C post-exam thoughts.

I thought the Mech MC was easy and the FRQ’s were okay. For E&M I didn’t like the MC but the FRQ’s were cake.

I have a question about the scoring guidelines. Say part b requires direct use of the answer you got in part a. If my part a answer is wrong but all of my work in part b is correct, can I still get full credit for part b even if the value from a I used was wrong?

I left the second frq for e&m almost completely blank :/

Did we have to use integration for the 3rd FRQ for mech?

And did we even need integration for E&M FRQ 1 and 3?

really? the emag frq’s were RIDICULOUSLY hard for everyone i’ve talked to. i probably/definitely got a 5 on mechanics but emag i’m most likely borderline. at least the emag mc was easy.

here’s my predicted breakdown:

mech:
27/35 (5 omit, 2 wrong)
~35/45
69/90 = 5

emag:
32/35 (omit 2, 2 wrong, theoretically)
~18/45 (yeah, THAT badly)
59/60 = 5

the issue is i couldve realistically gotten only 28/35 if i was wrong about how many i got wrong and also around 12/45 if i was wrong about that as well.
in my worst case scenario, that gets me 48/90 = 4.

does anyone have the score by point breakdown from last year?

yeah aznjunior, that one was pretty hard : /

You needed integration in Mech3 for sure.

In E/M1, you definitely needed it for both the potential and the electric field, since it wasn’t gauss’ law. E/M3 I don’t think you needed to integrate, just differentiate. But was the last part of e/m3 asking for power or energy dissipated?

Well I thought charged capacitors meant no current

Jdong, i dont think u needed integration for EM 1. all the verticals for E canceled out sooo… yeah.

I don’t think i can go more in-depth.

aznjunior: they do, im pretty sure it was a trick question

F Physics. The problem is is that my school only offers Physics B, but I took the C exams because I’m going into engineering. Therefore, I didn’t have a real solid foundation in the calculus sections. I mean, I KNOW calculus extremely well, just not physics Calculus. I say that Physics can suck it.

And whoever said that this was not the hardest test of FRQs, I also have done the FRQs for the past 10 years and I can say that this one would be placed right near the top. Did you look at last years FRQs? Why couldn’t I have done those…

Ughhh then I messed up my test bc I didn’t trust my instincts

^I do that all the time too :/

i messed up that part too : / And I had the same instincts as you.

Yeah, I’d probably put it near the top, but not ahead of 2008 and 2009. I failed 2008 #3, and I didn’t even write anything intelligent down for 2009 #2! You’d think we’d be able to just memorize the equation for 2009 #2, but no…

I may not have gotten all of this year’s questions correct, but I definitely had a good idea of what I was supposed to be doing the whole time (unlike in 2008 and 2009).

I could do all of 2008 and 2009… but not this year’s

Also, keep in mind I’m talking about Mechanics only. I didn’t take the E&M part.

2008 mech was harder. the emag exam was far harder than anything 2006-2009

Ohh mechanics… I just had a problem with one of the graphs plus last part of one question

By the way, is it a bad thing that I cannot remember any of the questions on the FRQ? I remember the pictures, but not the questions, but I do remember how hard/easy they were.
