How was the curve, especially for Mechanics? Did anybody completely screw that differential equation FQ and still end up with a 5? What about E&M curve? Was it tough since I thought it was relatively simple?

7 views and no answers? Guess everyone’s still waiting…

I did.
I took the Mechanics.
Completely BOMBED the 2nd question. It was so unexpected I panicked badly. I thought it was exponentially harder than any of the ones from last 8 years (on the cb website).
Basically for the last two subparts I winged it. Pure BS.
and I also skipped about 8 MC’s. So I had the right to be worried.
But I was shocked to see (or hear) that I got a 5. It made my day.
Yeah I’m pretty sure there was a very generous curve because I can’t imagine a lot of people got that right.

yea, i think i did very well on the MC, and I got really jittery on the FR because all of the problems were very different from what we did in class. I think my raw score on the FR was probably like 40% or below, but I still got a 4. I knew most of the crap on EM, and got a 5 easily.

I bombed the second free response question.
I wrote “epic fail” all over it.
I also bombed the third one because i was sick of Physics but i completely got the first one and i think maybe 30 MC correct.
I got a 5.

wow, thanks guys! I’m pretty confident i did well on Mechanics then. What do you think the curve for E&M looked like?

^:D maybe u should call fo yoo scores then

I got 5’s on both parts i was aghast. The curve for both must have been pretty generous. I had no clue what to do for 2 on mechanics and i screwed up the last half of every E&M free response. I did think the mc was a joke though…

Don’t worry piggy. I’ve seen your posts and I know you’re eager to know what other’s got. I’ll post all of mine when they come.

I got a 5 on Mechanics and for number 2, I basically just wrote formulas down that pertained to the question. But I’m also pretty sure I missed at most 2 MC questions, so that may have made up for it.

when do the FQ scoring guidelines come out? I should like to see the average score on #2 Mech. and where they gave points.

I got a 5 on mechanics and 4 on e/m which really surprised me because I self-studied e/m starting over spring break and never even really got into magnetism ;o

I got a 5 on Mechanics and a 4 on EM. I was expecting 2s, considering that I completely bombed the Mechanics free response and all of the EM exam…lol.

i got at least a 4 on both, not sure yet bc the scores haven’t came… but that must have been a massive curve on the mech, that was crazy on the second frq

I was really surprised to see a generous curve for Mech…

My Mech score is exactly what I was expecting, lol.
I’m not saying it, but you can probably guess it. -_-

Bombed #2, BS’d #3 and got half of #1 correct.
MC confused me over a bit…meh.

Got a 4 on E&M though. -_-

5 on both, pretty much nailed the test in every facet. No bombing involved, although both curves are generous from year to year.

I was shocked I got a 4 on mech. I drew a pattern all over #2 and left half of #3 blank and didn’t pay attention during the second half of the class (basically after I got into college).

Number 2 was a bit confusing when I first looked at it; it really was different than anything that I had done in class. Still, I managed to get a five which I was very happy with.

Question for all of you that took both. I took Mech. this year and felt very good about it, but my school does not offer E/M. I’m planning on self studying next year and would like to know which seems like a harder test.

EM is harder for sure, but if you understand the concepts of mech, then you should def be able to do e/m self study
