If you are self-studying, the knowledge of mechanics and e&m from phy B will definitely help as many have said.
I would suggest using the barrons prep book because it makes heavy use of calculus, which I think will be great for you. Since you will take a non-calc class, this book contains excellent example problems of a variety of types (yes, some are so hard they won't actually be on the test, but that's why it's such a great book!) If you can handle barrons, then you know your self-studying was done sufficiently. People here have said PR was good, I didn't use it so I don't know. So if you decide to use PR, I would still say at least supplement it with barrons so you can get the good calc-based practice you will need.
