What did everyone think about the AP Physics C Exam (Mechanics and E&M)? Questions, Comments, or Concerns?

I only took mechanics... the multiple choice were easy and what i expected but the free response were eghhhhhh

i only took EM -- MC was average, FR seemed like a joke -- half of it didn't even seem like physics to me.
hopefully the gods of electromagnetism will not strike me down and give me a 1 for saying that... eep.

i took both. mech was very easy. free response of EM were just odd. seemed very conceptual/lab based as opposed to the heavily calculation based problems of previous years. i don't think i had to use any calculus on it. hopefully we still get a nice curve depsite the fact that it seemed very easy and straightforward, as i really think i might have bombed teh second question :(

I guess we can talk about the test in general terms...

I took both.

The mechanics was good, but I messed up on parts of the free response.

E&M was strange. It didn't have a lot of the usual material. The second free response was confusing, but I think I got most of it.

Physics B was pretty easy... free response a little unexpected but straightforward nevertheless.

takin the C exam next week. Not sure if i should just do Mech or E&M too.

I didn't think you could take both exams?

I thought E&M was very easy (so much it was weird). Mech was a bit harder. The FR wasn't that bad except for one question in each (neither of which was the last), hehe.

One of my teachers whose going through law school told me that the whole "contractual agreement" where you're not allowed to talk about the m/c ever isn't binding because contracts aren't legally allowed to be set for an indefinite amount of time.

Well, leave it to the Tyrants of Princeton (the College Board)

It was pretty easy.

Uh, well I feel stupid.

I thought it was a b*&%?!

But that's just me.

Agreed on the E&M though...none of the expected topics came up. At all. But the mechanics section hung me out to dry. sigh

Well, I'm pretty sure I got a 5 on E&M. On mech, I probably got close to 100% on the mc and the second fr, but I bombed the first and third fr's (like 1/4 credit on each). Do I have a chance for a 5? I'm usually really good at mech, but I had a bad day. I really want to get credit/placement. Thanks.

I only can comment on the mechanics. MC was average compared to tests from previous years. For me, two of the free responses were cake and one was impossible. In fact, all 59 people taking Physics C at my school could not figure out how to do the same free response question (which to appease the CB gods I will not specifically name). Who knows--maybe the College Board will be generous with the curve this year ;)

i took it as soph, mech, and it wuz pretty easy (i got a 5)

u only need like 66% correct to get a 5 anyway, the fact that ur posting here means that u will get a 5 anyway, realx....go watch a movie or something

um... i think we can talk about free response specifically now, since it's been 48 hours.

yay , yay, YAY, wahoo wotowttooolet the FR games begin (wootwootwoot!!!!!)

that made me laugh forever, for some reason.
there's definitely some wisdom there. i'm sure you did right fabulously. it's time for the partying to begin.

damn... I did pretty poorly ;[. I'm pretty sure I got a 4; what's the average raw score for a 5? I made so many stupid mistakes... I was relying on this to change my grade too. crap.

uh well I had the WORST TEACHER EVER who "tried" to do e&m and mech in one year but ended up teaching us little to nothing about either. This guy was a complete nut, had a few strokes, wore mismatched shoes, did problems wrong on the board, couldn't add, included NO CALC THE ENTIRE YEAR EVEN THOUGH half the class was in BC and the other half in AB, the list goes on and on. Everyone in the class only did mechanics because we did basically zero e&m.

and I was so worried because I love physics but don't know anything!!! In the end I did 19 out of the 35 m.c. (just because i didn't have time for more, I practiced a lot of multiple choice so it wasn't oo hard) and about one and half out of the three free response

Soooo the highest grade I might get is around a 41%, assuming I get most of what I did right... If I get a two or three and don't send it to colleges will they wonder why I have no score?
