Instead of telling me which I should take, tell me a little about each of these, like what they deal with and what skills are necessary. If it helps, I’m taking AP Calc AB as well, so if that helps me with either let me know as well.

Hi! I took AP Chemistry last year (when I was a sophomore) I got a 3(i skipped many parts of frq’s). I think 8 people passed in total of those who took it last year. The year before only 3 people passed it and it was only 3’s. But the teacher wasn’t exactly the best of teachers for sophomores. He taught it college style, lecture, lecture, lecture, test. Skill-wise, stoichiometry is like algebra with proportions and all that. You need to know how to apply formulas, conversions. Memorize polyatomic ions. My chem teacher said chemistry is the study of electrons and pounded that into our heads. But that’s my chemistry teacher(who no longer teaches at our school)… maybe your school is different.

I am taking AP physics C right now(didn’t take physics b). Calculus helps a lot. Actually, it is the reverse, I learn calculus in physics first and it helps me in AP Calc AB. However physics is very hard for me. Physics honors was not bad but I am struggling in AP physics C. Since we learn mechanics in one semester and E&M in the other, I feel really pushed. I am still trying to absorb concepts. Could be different in your school.

For me, AP chemistry was hard but easier than what I am going through now in AP Physics C. AP Physics C is the one with calculus, physics b doesn’t have calculus.

thank you very much. I basically have a decision to take the class that is considered easier (AP Chem) which I would be a year removed from (took Chem in 10th), or take the harder one (Physics C, by the way). I’m taking Physics right now. Extremely easy for me right now (high A). My teacher said AP Physics would be a good challenge for me. She said it “teaches you the right way to think”. I think I’ll sign up for it then. I may end up taking AP Chem anyway if less than 15 kids sign up for it (which might happen. “physics” is such a scary word to some people).

BTW I’m not a prospective engineering major. Economics for a top school and accounting for a lesser school (eg UF)

Hey you are in florida? Me too! Well physics honors for me last year, grade wise I got an average A, like 94-96 or so if I remember right(just remember it was an A) however I did a lot of extra credit essays and got A’s to b’s on tests after curves. If you find any resources that made physics easier for you please let me know…ugh… AP physics C midterm soon and I am not sure how I will do.

actually I’m in GA, so my love for UF is on the down low lol.
