AP Physics or AP Chemistry?

I am looking to go into Biomedical engineering at UC Davis and would like to know if it would be more beneficial to take AP Physics or AP Chemistry as my schedule only allows for one (otherwise I would take both.) I am already scheduled to take AP Biology and would like to go to Vet School after getting my BioMed degree.

I think AP Chem is far more relevant, and if you get AP credit, you will get more credit for AP Chem than Physics.

Which AP Physics is this (B or C)
B is not accepted for credit at most top schools.
C is for some credit with a 4-5.

AP Chemistry is a fairly relevant class. Also, which one interests you more? That should be the bigger question here.

Chemistry would be more useful for Biochem, but both are needed for vet school, so take whichever interests you more.

I’m taking both next year, but I would say take AP Chemistry. It will help you understand AP Bio a little better anyways.

I agree with the others; AP Chem is more relevant. However, I got into UCD with mediocre/bad scores on the Physics C exams, so in the end it’s your pick.

Thank you to all! really appreciate it  @Violet1996‌ @Flyleaf630‌ @skieurope‌ @Ctesiphon‌ @Daddio3‌

Consider this – my son got a 5 on the AP Chemistry exam as a sophomore in HS. He is attending Northwestern University next year and will get credit for a full year of chemistry (3 quarters) in engineering. Even if he got a 5 on both Physics C Mechanics AND E&M, that still would have been worth only 2 quarters of science credit in engineering. The Physics B / Physics 1/2 credit is worth nothing in engineering since it is not calc-based.

@Daddio3‌ oh wow! And since I’m struggling in Physics I probably will not get a 5 but a 3. I’m much better at chemistry. Thank you so much!
