Hey everybody, I am currently a freshman and have asked about stuff like this before. I want to major in some applied math field in college (most likely either CS, EE or Materials), and am currently signed up for:
English 3 Honors
Chem 1 Honors
AP Stats
AP World
Precalc Honors
Spanish 3 Honors
Programming 1 Honors
Orchestra Masterclass
However I just found out that I can take AP Physics 1 and 2 (double blocked) concurrently with Precalculus at my school. If I remove AP Stats (what sophomores usually take at my school, can do this as a senior instead) and Programming 1 (I only need this as a prerequisite for AP Comp Sci and can take this junior year), my schedule would end up looking something like this:
English 3
Chem 1
AP World
AP Physics 1
AP Physics 2
Precalc
Spanish 3
Masterclass
This is nice as it is an extra AP and can give me a leg up in terms of GPA/class rank. I am also currently flying through Algebra 2 and the Physics portion of Physical Science with over 100s in each, so I don’t think they will be all that hard classes for me. Along with Math II and World History I can also knock out the Physics SAT II as well after my sophomore year, as opposed to taking it midway through senior year.
Once again, this is an idea that just came to me a couple of minutes ago, and I want some feedback. Has anybody else ever done this before? Am I misjudging the difficulty AP Physics? Or should I stick with Stats as of right now? Thanks, CC!
