AP Physics without previous physics class?

My school offers only AP Physics B (no C) or a regular non-honors physics class. The AP class doesn't have the basic class as a pre-req. I'll be taking Honors PreCalc next year. Would AP be too hard without any previous class or any knowledge whatsoever of physics?

Most kids at my school take AP Physics without any Physics background – they learn Physics for the first time as they go, and many find success with it. However, I’ve been told that AP Physics is easier if you’ve already completed Trig/Pre-Cal and are dual enrolled in Calc while taking it.

For Physics B you really only need some rudimentary trig skills which you could probably master in a few days on your own.

Having no physics background won’t put you in a bad spot. At my school, a lot of kids take AP Physics B as their intro to physics and then go on to do C: Mechanics and sometimes E&M. They do just fine on the Physics B exam so I wouldn’t worry too much.

Thanks guys!
I thought about it and I do want to take AP next year, but I just found out that it’s 2 periods per day and that just messed up my schedule. Now I can either take AP and not continue on to Spanish 4, or take regular Physics and Spanish 4. Unfortunately, my school doesn’t offer Honors. What do you guys think?
