AP Preparation Books and Exam Scores

I know there is already the "Consolidated book suggestions for AP" thread, but I would like to start a thread devoted to listing books used and relevant AP exam scores. Looking back at the books I used, there was a surprisingly large correlation between review book quality and exam scores.

AP Psychology (5) - Barron's. Excellent review book. Clearly written, and focused on what you need to know.

AP Computer Science A (5) - Barron's. Very solid review book. Covers necessary material and clearly marks optional stuff. I got a 5 without ever covering 90% of the optional material.

AP Calculus BC (5) - Barron's. Over-preparation to the extreme.

AP Literature and Composition (4) - Barron's. Pretty much useless except for the literary devices and practice tests.

AP Latin (2) - There is no review book for the new Latin exam.

AP Biology (4) - Barron's. The book was absolutely dreadful, and the FRQs were nothing like those on the exam.

AP Microeconomics (5) - 5 Steps to a 5, 2014-2015 edition. Simply the best review book ever.

Thank you for the information! I bought Barron’s for AP Psych :slight_smile: Any suggestions for the following and why:

•AP Macroeconomics
•AP Environmental Science
•AP Physics 1 (based on your previous experience with any of the physics b or c review books, which would you recommend–PR, Barron’s, or 5 Steps?)

@DiscipulusBonus‌, how many days/weeks did you review the Barron’s book for AP Psych?

@JiuJitsuNerd: I’d say approximately 20-30 hours.
