AP Problem

Hello,
My school offered AP stats to people who take pre Clac honors in 10th grade (my class next year). However they stopped.
My college guidance counselor told me that she and many other higher up staff members didn't like the fact about sophomores taking an AP class. I got really mad. Any ideas on how to convince them? Do you agree?!?

Why does she think you’re not capable? And you could always switch your schedule at the last minute wink

I completely agree that their statement is complete bs. Your guidance counselors are supposed to be encouraging you to take rigorous classes to get accepted into the best colleges they can. I mean you could start a petition or show them information on why they should keep the class. This would help not just you but other students in your same situation challenge themselves to learn.

Thank you all of you so much for the replies.
That idea for a petition is a gods idea, I think I will try that.

Petitions usually just get them mad, its not worth the effort. Instead, team up with a teacher or administrator who supports your side and talk about how other high schools allow it. Mine even allows freshmen to take AP’s. Don’t let these communists get their way, America has enough socialism.

i’m fairly sure u can, contacting someone higher up may help.

If your guidance counselor is the one giving you issues, you could always bring up the issue with the school board or principal. It’s not right that your counselor can limit the rigorous classes you can take even though you’re clearly qualified to do so.

Ok thank you
