<h2>From the discussion in the “New ECE Curriculum” thread on the UIUC reddit, it appears the proposed changes for ECE frosh/soph classes are the replacement of ECE 190/290 with new classes ECE 120/220. Another comment indicates that ECE 120 is essentially a modified ECE 290 for freshmen. It teaches the hardware of the LC-3 and Logic. ECE 220 is essential a modified ECE 190, it will teach C and enough C++ so that a student is prepared for CS 225. ECE 198JL/198KL are currently trial mode classes for the changes.</h2>
