So do we have a concensus yet with regard to the number of correct answers needed in order to earn a score a 5?

generally you need 95% of the m/c and at least 75% of the free response, not too bad

yea but many teachers still give previous practice exams to their students...isn't this a global practice? say the questions got passed on orally and some guy decided to write the questions down for his future reference...isn't that essentially the same as a practice test?

holy crap..surely u DONT need 95% of mc and 75% of essay to get a five, other wise: im screwed!

Haha, I bet the prep book companies take and study the "leaked" information to make "accurate" prep books.

jay144: Are you sure???

the 95% sounds ridiculous! no way that can be true

anyway i guess it's just a buffer, they know it can't be helped but it's just to minimize the activity of this (mis)deed. like tax on cigarettes.

I definately don't think that's right. On the practice tests we were taking in class (old APs), my teacher said that for the most part a raw score of 75 puts you in the 5 range if you don't bomb the free response

You know what? I think I scored a 5! :)

you need 105/150 to get a 5

1 pt each per mc (-.25 for each wrong)
100 pts total

9 pt essay
8 pt essay
each converted to a score out of 25
50 pts total

lol yeah I was just kidding hhahaha :D

sigh i want to talk about mc dammit

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO freakin' easy!! I only left 4 blank, and those were ones that were really obscure biology where I had no clue. Biology = 10-12% of the test, my ass...it seemed like there were barely any, thank god, because I can't remember jack **** from the biology chapter. I was so relieved when I saw the Free Response, before the test I figured I would bomb it because I may or may not have bombed the Eng Lang & Comp and USH essays. I didn't quite finish pt. C on the 1st essay because I only had 20 mins left and I wanted to get question 2 done because I knew almost all of them and by the time I finished #2 time was up. Oh well....this is the only one out of my 3 that I could see myself getting a 5 on.

Predictions:
Eng Lang - High 3/extremely low 4
USH- extremely high 3/low-mid 4
Psych- high 4/possible 5?

So happy! Yay for easy(er) AP tests!

That one MC question about Standard Deviation cracked me up because there really can't be a middle 50% of any set of data. Man, I am SUCH a dork...:-D

Do they really think that they could stop students from "sharing" the MC information by enforcing a policy? A lot of people are discussing it, it seems to me.

Compared to bio last year, I am actually mildly horrified about psych....

The MCs weren't too terribly bad. I put ?s by the ones I was unsure of... 20 in total. Most of them I could narrow down to two, definite choices. Some I've just now double checked... and I probably got most of them right. So I'm guessing 15ish wrong, to be on the safe side.

The FR... it will be a miracle if I get 5 points from each question combined. I didn't know about 2 terms on the second question... For the first question I wasn't sure how detailed I should get on each of the sub sections. Is it just me, or did they seem deceptively simple? a lil too simple and straightforward... I probably got them wrong then. :(

How many points do you need for a four? All I want from Jesus is a four...

what the autonomic nervous system have to do with decision making?

it controls voluntary motion, such as decision making and buying the car,

I thought it controlled involuntary things such as heart rate, breathing etc? fast car... fast breath... fast heart rate... buy car...

am I an idiot?

I thought it was really easy as well. I mean I know I didn't pass it but still it was easy. I mean I took a regular psychology class last year and just decided to take the AP exam for fun this year. Even without picking up a psych book for a whole year most of the MC questions were pretty easy and straightforward. Since I hadn't practied with the time on the FRQ's they really got me. I had nine pages for the first essay. For the second essay I had five minutes so I just wrote "Oh shoot I am out of time! Good luck grading all of these essay's."

I bet I got a two but with never having taken an AP psych class or even looking at the subject for a year that is not a horrible score. LOL. Anyway I am now kicking myself for not studying for the past few months. I could have probably gotten a four or five.

shoot. I KNEW THAT TOOO!!! why did i write that?!

The Autonomic Nervous System part of question #2 baffled me. The definition of the ANS is: A part of the nervous system which controls muscle/tissue that is involuntarily moved, such as the heart.

So how does this affect decision making?

I put, "if the ANS is working correctly and she is a healthy girl, she can be assured that her involuntary muscle/tissue movements will succeed normally, and she will be physically able to get herself to a dealership and buy a car"
