AP Psychology

Has anyone taken AP Psych? Is it difficult? Is it interesting? Would it be easy to self-study for the test? I was thinking about taking a Pysch 101 class on my local community college, and then taking the AP test. Would this be a good substitute since they don't offer it at my school?

I haven’t taken AP Pyschology but, I do plan on taking it next year! At my school, its considered to be one of the easiest APs and I’ve never heard from anyone that it was hard. All my friends that take it told me that its pretty much all vocabulary.

Wait wait wait… If you’re taking Psych at a CC, why would you take an AP Exam? That’s like graduating from high school then taking the GED test.

^ +1
yeah you really don’t need to take AP Psycho test, if you pass the CC class, you get units already… sure you can take it, but why waste the 90 bucks or 100 bucks they charge??

if you want to, do it by all means, the test is extremely easy, class is really interesting [but depends on ur teacher], and overall it is a great class :D

[i took Psychology Normal Freshman year and it was the worst class for me, i got an A, but the teacher was horrid. I took AP Psych as a senior and literally slacked off cuz of senioritis :stuck_out_tongue: and got an A, a 5 on the AP tests, and had a bunch of fun!]

That’s right, if you’re already in the Community College Psychology class, you don’t need to take an AP exam. The class is easy and you study for it on your own. There are some great resources online to help you prepare for [AP Psychology](Online AP Psychology Exam Prep & Review) and they offer everything you need to get 3 college credits like practice exams and explanations for any question that you could face on the exam. Most of the resources are free but some come at a minimal price that’s totally worth it. All the best!

Ap psychology is the bomb!!! lol

I took AP Psychology my junior year. It was A LOT of work (on average I had about 2+ hours of work every day and I had double that amount of homework for spring break), but it was worth it. I really enjoyed psychology; it’s a really interesting subject! :)

If you take the class at the college, I don’t think you’ll have to take the AP exam.

The AP exam for psychology is quite easy to self-study for and was actually tons easier than the tests we were getting in class. I self-studied with The Princeton Review’s AP Psychology Exam and I got a 5 on the test. Perhaps it was because the AP Psychology class at my school was so vigorous, but I can definitely say it was the easiest standardized test I ever took.
