I want to self-study some APs like AP psychology for example, but my school doesnt offer the class. So what would I have to do to take the test? A school near me has all of the AP classes that you can take. Do I go there or does my counselor proctor it
You’ll have to discuss this with your school. I think you order and pay for the test(s) and then you either go to the school you mentioned to take it or a College Board rep proctors it.
@CGrammar If people at my school self-study APs or courses not offered by the school, they just study it by themselves, and then register and pay when the time comes. No hoops to jump through. Ask your GC about your school’s policy.

It could go either way. Your school is probably willing to order a single test and administer it for you, but you’ll need to talk to your guidance counselor.
