I am currently taking 2 AP classes: Physics C and Cal BC as a junior. I feel that it's not impressive enough when I apply to college. Is it true ??

How many should I take next year ??

Depends on how many your school offers. And what tier of college you’re shooting for.

Colleges want to see you take the most rigorus curriculum availible to you.

As book_worm stated, colleges like to see that you’ve taken the most challenging courses you can - if those are the courses you are offered, I wouldn’t worry about it.

That being said, taking Physics C and Calc BC as a Junior is pretty impressive. Those are typically senior-level courses.

My school offers 17 AP classes. Some of them are languages which I cannot take.

I am aiming for some top tier schools. and middle tier such as Brandeis, Vassar, Hamilton, Skidmore,.. and some super top schools like Harvard, Dartmouth, Yale, Princeton, MIT

If you’re shooting for the elite colleges, take as many as you can do well in.

Try to pick APs that interest you, and make sure to challenge yourself.

Given the opportunities available, there is no reason why you shouldn’t take an AP class in a humanities related field.

Maybe a history, English, arts, or foreign language AP.

Depends on your strengths. If you are an all-rounded student who excels every where then yes go for that AP Lang, AP U.S, etc. BUT if you’re solely analytical which based on your information shows this I would refraim from taking those courses. Also, AP Physics/AP Calculus BC as a junior is very impressive you won’t be at any disadvantage. Right now your biggest concern should be to do as well as possible in those courses.

I can’t take the AP foreign language since I am only in Spanish I ( just started it this year). Should I take more APs this year or wait till senior year ? I might take AP US, AP English next year

Should I take AP Euro and AP US at the same time ?
