I am currently a Junior in HS and will be taking 4 AP Tests this year.

1st Question is:
What are the best test prep books to buy for these subjects? So far I have heard...

APUSH - AMSCO
AP BIO - CLIFF
AP ENG AND LANG - CLIFF
AP CHEM - PRINCETON REVIEW

Are these books good? What is your opinion?

2nd Question:
I am taking only 4 AP tests in my Junior Year...Is that too few?

Do I need to self-study?
During Senior Year I will be taking 5 AP courses but the AP will be after I am excepted into college. So what should I do?

Thank you!!!

First Question: Those are the best prep books considered on this forum. My experience: AMSCO is sufficient to get you a 5 on the APUSH exam; PR is also a good book for AP Chem exam.

Second Question: Average number of juniors taking the AP exams would be 2-3 in my guess. Here on CC: 5-6 would be the average.

First: I have the AMSCO for US and Cliff’s for Bio, and they seem pretty good. I don’t know about the other two; I haven’t taken them yet (hello, senior year!)

I’m taking 4 this (my junior) year, and 4 next year. Most people in my school only take 2-3 total in high school. I go to a private boarding and day school. You decide what to make of that. :)

First Question: I would recommend that you also get a copy of Crash Course. It is less than $10.00 and complements Amsco.
Second Question: Nine APs is more than enough.
