<p>Yes, it’s certainly an award, and you can list it.</p>
<p>You might be applying to colleges where it’s pretty unusual. Or, if you’re like most college aspirants on College Confidential, you’re probably applying to colleges where half the applicant pool (or more) are some flavor of AP Scholar.</p>
<p>So, yes, I suppose it’s a national award, but it’s not going to stand out particularly when they read your application in New Haven.</p>
<p>It’s not the national award, you got the regular AP Scholar award for those who have scored 3 or higher on 3 exams. The next level is the AP Scholar with Honors where you have taken 4 or more and have an average score of 3.25 or higher, then it’s the AP Scholar with Distinction where you have taken 5 or more with an average score of 3.5 or higher. The national and state award are reserved for one girl and one boy who have taken the highest # of AP classes with the highest average score, from each state or the country respectively.</p>
<p>I’d still consider it a “national” award because it doesn’t really fit in any other category. It’s just that AP Scholar is different from National AP Scholar. </p>
