AP Scholar Award

1) When will the AP scholar awards be announced?
2) If we know for sure which AP Scholar award we will get, can we include it in the college application now or do we have to wait until the AP scholar award is announced ?

I already got my AP Scholar award in the mail about a week ago. If you’re absolutely, 100% positive you know which award you’re going to get, I guess you can put it on your application. But since you haven’t technically recieved the award yet it’s almost like lying… personally, I wouldn’t, but it’s up to you!

I am in Chicago…when should I expect to recieve mine?

We called the AP Exam contact # on the college board web site and was told the AP Award certificate will be mailed shortly. They looked at the information and told us that my S will receive the AP Scholar with Distinction award so he can and should include in his application now if he wishes to.

BTW we are also from the Chicago area.

Good luck!

I got mine in PA today. If they’re sent out like the APs (East to West) you should be getting them very, very soon. =)

Update: I just received the AP Scholar with Distinction award certificate today. We are from Illinois (Chicago area).

i got mine today (south texas)

Just received one yesterday. FYI - to “OP”…I personally would not feel at ALL guilty about including it on your application. I asked my D to withhold sending her apps, ready to push the button after confirming a couple of awards just received. HOWEVER, she did want to send one in early for better scholarship consideration, and I told her she SHOULD include it. It’s only the paperwork you don’t have. It’s VERY easy to see if you go the award. There is nothing subjective. So if you earned it, but just don’t have the paperwork, claim it. That’s my theory. I don’t feel it’s lying at ALL. It’s not like you’re waiting on something to be “judged” (something subjective).

One caveat…do see the other post right now, about how some people didn’t get the award they thought they’d get. It’s just math…but…maybe not. If you somehow ended up with duplicate/multiple AP accounts at College Board (and it happens a LOT) then your total tests won’t be combined, and therefore not calculated properly.

I received my report last week, here in SoCal

I got mine by the time I got to my freshman year in college: Can I put it in the awards section of my grad school application?
