AP Scholar Certificates

Certificates for the scholar awards are mailed directly to the student, not the high school.

how is the paper and envelope? i am awfully curious…is it different from the ap scores by mail?

Got mine in NC today.

@federernadal: The envelope is a regular yellow manila envelope. The certificate actually looks pretty cheap. The slightly-nicer-than-printer-paper paper that’s probably been mass printed to be sent out.

Thanks and Congrats!!

Got mine in NC today. The certificate is a POS. AP Scholar w/ Distinction sounds good though :)

No certificate yet here in CA. IIRC, last year it came late Sept/early October. It’s nothing special, no seal or anything. Therefore, I’d rather they email a PDF and then I could print with the quality of paper/ink we desire.

i just got mine today, saying i was an AP scholar with distinction. i took 5 AP tests this May and received a 5 on all; but in May 2008 i took 3 APs and also received 5s…so shouldn’t i get the national AP scholar designation? should i call collegeboard or something?

marie303:

Sure sounds like you made the national AP scholar level … I am wondering, although this doesn’t sound quite right, if they don’t give this one until after your senior year since, in theory, you could take and bomb a bunch of AP tests senior year (you know, with senioritis going on and all.) My S is only up to 7 tests now, so not an issue with him but if it was, I’d call CB and ask.

still none in Florida.

I was told that later, if you take many (including Senior year), they could drop the low score (say 3) and use all the higher scores to get National level. Is this correct.?
This year three 5’s, one 4, and last year a 3, then freshman 4. This should be scholar with disinction.
This year I am taking 6 maybe 7, so I would expect to do fairly well. May not take them all, my school doesn’t require you to take it.

d in ny got hers today, scholar with distinction. She’s a senior now and taking 4 more ap’s. Does anyone know if the May 2010 AP test scores will be available by graduation in June of 2010? If not, this means that the AP classes taken in senior year don’t affect that rank??

I got mine in Florida. National AP Scholar =]

@ mom22girls - AP scores are released at the end of June if you pay by phone, otherwise it’s July by snail mail. I don’t think they will be in by graduation.

unfortunately, for me I didn’t receive mines yet, and I’m in California.

I got my yesterday, I’m from Northern Cal.

I don’t think that’s right, as I’m a junior and got a National AP Scholar award. I think it’s because they only take the scores that qualify, so even if someone had 8 5s by their senior year (such as marie303), and got 3s in her senior year, she’d still be a National AP Scholar because you still has those 8 5s.

I got mine yesterday. I’m in MD.

@ muffinish earlier: 5,4,4,4,3 gives you AP Scholar with Distinction

btw, does anyone know if they add in APs taken senior year, and send you another certificate? I got scholar with distinction this year since i haven’t taken the required eight tests yet to achieve national level, but i will have 8+ by time senior year ends.

I live in Florida and I still haven’t gotten mine! What should I do?

I live in Minnesota and just got mine (AP scholar with honor) today.

Got it 2 days ago (West Coast). Apparently it takes them a long time to ship them, because my certificate said it was printed on Aug 22.

Got my AP Scholar with Honors certificate today but I thought the award was culmulative?

I took 4 APs this year (all 5s) and 1 last year (4), since that’s 5, shouldn’t that be an AP Scholar with Distinction?

Got it!!!
