shouldn’t this be distinction?

Anyone got it in Canada?

Got Distinction yesterday.

i live in texas, and i still havn’t gotten mine even though all my friends have

an international still waiting…

To those who are asking about the awards being “cumulative”. I don’t now, but SURELY it is. It would HAVE to be, right? Because “national scholar” requires 8 exams. No one could take 8 exams in one year, right? Well…I guess they COULD. I always assumed it was cumulative but it’s interesting that some of you are getting certificates you think are not cumulative. One question for those of you with that problem…are you SURE that all your scores are recorded for you in ONE account? The reason I ask is that this is a common problem for some kids. My own daughter didn’t use her social security number AND didn’t use her middle initial one year. So College Board couldn’t match her name up to previous years’ testing and they created a new account for her. So ONE account had 2 scores, and the NEW account had the 2 scores from this year. Fortunately I called in time and we got it sorted (combined). It’s a very easy process. So…is it at all possible this happened to you? When you got your scores for THIS year…that score report should have contained previous years’ scores. If it did NOT, then you probably need to contact College Board and get the accounts combined. Just thinking this MIGHT be a reason some didn’t get the award they thought they’d get. ???

By the way - to those of you still waiting. We did JUST get my daughter’s yesterday 9/14. I think their issuance of the certificates is a drawn out process.

^^^
Yes, they are accumulative. D just received her National AP Scholar certificate. She’s already away at college, so we’ll stick it with her memorabelia, LOL. BTW, they also sent her an AP scholar w/ distinction award, which she’d gotten last year. So they must send all the awards you are eligible for each year, I guess.

zebes

P.S. My son didn’t receive his AP national scholar award his senior year because they (somehow) separated his exam years. By the time we’d realized this had happened (when all his AP scores hadn’t ended up at the university), he didn’t care so we didn’t pursue fixing it. Anyway, you might keep track of that

Zebes…I knew it! (“separated his exams”). That is just so prevalent. I wish they’d stress to the kids, before time for the exams, to MEMORIZE their social security number and put it on all their tests. This would eliminate most of the duplicate accounts being created. My daughter started taking tests in 9th grade and no one even mentioned it.

When they get more than one account it’s bothersome in SO many ways. At least it’s “fixable”…but we have to know to look for it. And you don’t know until July when you’ve already received your scores.

At my DDs school, the various A/P scholars are hone thing that is honored during their February Senior awards night. Of course that doesn’t “earn” you anything but it’s nice for your efforts to be recognized. And of COURSE you need ALL your grades before you head off to sign up for college courses if your grades mean you’ll get credit. And, at one school to which my daughter is applying, they actually need these scores reported as they are a huge consideration for admissions. So…it’s pretty important! I was excited that my D would be a National Scholar, and amazed that our school didn’t have any last year…and only one person the year before. Then I realized it’s because they didn’t earn it until after their senior year…long after their February awards. (I’m so DUH!)

This wait is long. Does the manilla envelope have anything printed on it?

Or to simply not put the SSN at all. I wasn’t sure of it my sophomore year and didn’t put it. It has been easy the subsequent years to just not fill in that section and not have to try and remember what my SSN/if I had put it in years prior.
