"AP scholar" question

Does CollegeBoard give you the appropriate award as soon as you fulfill the requirements? Or do they only give you it at the end of senior year? I am still waiting for my AP scores, but lets say that I will have an average AP score above 4, and above a 4 on 8 or more exams, so that will qualify me for the national AP scholar award. Next year I will be a senior. Will my AP report show this award, as well as the reports sent to colleges? I imagine such an award would be beneficial to applications.

They start sending out certificates in early September.

They give it to you as soon as you fill the requirements.

Really? I got my AP Scholar w/ Distinction award in the summer (probably around August).

Maybe bluewind confused AP scholar awards with National Merit awards?
