Hi, I am a rising senior and have taken 3 AP tests in Junior year and two in freshman year. I have made 3 in 3 of them and 4 in one and 5 on one. Am I qualified for AP scholar with distinction? Also, when do I know about it? Currently my score report online does not show any award and I have not received any email either.
Thanks!
AP Scholar of Distinction is when you get a 5 on 3 AP tests in one year. It would show on your online score report if you received it.
Here’s the link to the awards categories: https://apscore.collegeboard.org/scores/ap-awards/ap-scholar-awards/
The above is incorrect.
How is the above correct? It doesn’t say you have to get a score of 5 on 3 exams in one year. It literally says this on the link:
AP Scholar with Distinction Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
BTW, just checked my d19’s account because I hadn’t looked when scores came out. The scholar with distinction award was listed there now.
She did not get 5’s on 3 or more tests in one year.
I believe the poster was correctly saying that it was incorrect that one needed those scores in the same year. As far as when one is notified, in past years, AP Awards were announced in September, not with the release of scores in July.
Thanks ski! I must have misread, I’ll just blame age!
As I said though, while it may not have been announced, it is appearing on my daughter’s score report now and it has a link for a printable certificate in case anyone was interested.
My bad. I wasn’t clear! I saying the information in post #1 was incorrect. Not the information from the link I provided.
Awards are posted in CB website now. I just looked and found S19’s as well. @Embeechristmas I would check again. On the score report, the award is noted in pretty small font above the scores.
Thanks everyone!! What a coincidence!! Yes it wasn’t there at 12:23 when I posted this and now magically appeared! I am a AP scholar with distinction. And my best 5 was on my hardest subject(I could not even have imagined!)
Congrats @Embeechristmas !
