Hi everyone I just got my AP scores today. I got a 3 in AP bio, a 3 in U.S history (took this one in 2010), a 3 in U.S Gov and politics and a 2 in AP comparative government. Now I'm starting college in the fall. I noticed on the back of the score reports that there was a list of AP awards. I think I'm qualified for the AP scholar award because I got 3s on 3 exams. But I didn't see it being mentioned on the report. So do I still get it?

bump…

Yes, you are an AP scholar. I’m pretty sure they’ll mail out a certificate in a few weeks or so.

Seconding scrivener’s comment above. I pulled out my own score report to check: there isn’t even a data field for any additional honors.

Edit: Actually, this assumes that the College Board managed to connect your USH score to this year’s scores. Sometimes they muck that up. If it wasn’t listed on the form, you may have to write in and complain before they’ll surrender your certificate.

Is there anything significant about being an AP scholar aside from the title

AP Scholar gives you something to put on your resume that first and second year of college when you have to drop some of your HS awards.

Do you get AP scholar awards as a rising senior? i think that i got AP scholar with honor as of now, but do they wait to give you a certificate until you graduate and have taken all AP tests?

^Regardless of your year in school, you’ll get a certificate for any AP Scholar Awards you’ve earned in September or October.

Mentioned above was that it is something you put on the college application. But being just an AP Scholar is an inflated award which many high school students can receive, unlike a National AP scholar(4 or higher on eight or more exams) which is considered much more impressive.

Well if I ever want to transfer it is a nice thing to put on.

It’s a bit unfair, because good schools (like I’m talking about the top prep schools in the nation) don’t allow students to take too many APs, so it would be impossible for them to get one of the higher awards.

They send out a certificate? That’s so cool.(:

You only need eight for National Scholar. And you can self study, so even someone going to a prep school with limits could get eight. The only one higher than National is the state one, and that one would almost certainly involve self study. I am guessing that those who attend the tippy top prep schools don’t care too much about AP awards.

@worriedjunior12 I find it hard to sympathize with students who are already in the top schools in the nation
