AP Science Classes

Will only taking one science class (AP Physics) hurt my chances of colleges considering me? Overall I don’t intend on majoring in science, but I’ll share my workload:
Junior Year: AP Lang, AP Physics, and APUSH
Senior Year: AP Stats, AP Lit, AP Macro, and AP US Gov

If you don’t plan on majoring in science, I don’t see how it will hurt your chances. Is it the norm in your school to do one science course? If so, then it definitely won’t hurt you.

Most people in my school take AP Physics 1 junior year and then get to choose between AP Environmental, AP Bio, and AP Chem senior year. I did double up in science junior year, but I’m going for a STEM major, so don’t mind me. Your courseload looks balanced. c:

Quite a few kids do take two AP science classes in their career (most commonly AP Chem junior year and AP Physics senior year) but they have options like your school does. That’s mostly because they want to major in STEM. Thank you for your input!

The best person to ask would be your HS guidance counselor. And look to see if four years of lab science is recommended/required at any colleges you are considering applying to

As long as it’s within their requirements, you should be fine. Check the school’s common data set to see their admissions requirements- google “schoolname common data set” and scroll down to section C5.

I am taking biochemistry next year, which I think qualifies as a lab science. I’m afraid the elective label with take away from that

You need one year each of biology, chemistry, and physics at any level (regular, honors, AP). Anything else is on top of that and as a non stem major, if you have all three including AP Physics 1 and the others honors or regular + a science elective, you’ll be good.
However in order to stregthen your profile you should try and add an AP Foreign Language senior year.

Yeah, I did honors biology and chemistry before AP Physics, however I can’t take an AP foreign language class since there’s no class for that. (I take Arabic)

Are you taking Arabic senior year?
If so you’re ok.
