So Im in a predicament in which I dont know what ap science to take next year

Im deciding between chem, bio or physics B

So Ill also be taking Calc BC, APUSH, English Lang, Comparative Gov, Macroeconomics, next year

Ive taken chem and bio honors courses
Havent done physics but I hear colleges prefer breath before depth
I hear like physics B is really difficult and has a ton of material
And between chem and bio whichever one i cant fit in ill take at the Harvard SSP

AP Bio is an extremely easy class
AP Chemistry is an extremely interesting class (well for me)
AP Physics is an extremely math oriented class.

Out of those, I’ve taken 2, Bio and Chem, and will not be taking Physics next year, because I don’t want credit for it (I need to take as much physics as I can in college, can’t skip the 101 or 201).

I would take biology because college biology is pretty simple and boring, so might as well get it over with in HS.

@rcjeff: actually I think Physics is more fun without Calc, with Calc all you talk about is taking the derivative of the velocity vector, taking the integral of force with respect to displacement blah blah blah. you get so much caught up with the math that you fail to see the beauty of the physics.

I am in physics C and I’ve done multivariable calc, and I try my best to do the physics problems with as little calc as possible. I think it’s more fun because I try to derive the formulas using other ways other than calculus, and it gives me a lot of insight.

if you memorize the equations then you shouldn’t be taking physics.

Colleges like Physics C better than Physics B, even if they generally like breadth more than depth. Taking physics B will most likely not get you college credit.

ap bio is easy as long as you’re good at memorization and ap chem is hard, you need to be good at problem solving and stuff…i’m taking both this year

^ In that case, take bio (and save chem for senior year).

Physics B is pretty useless since good colleges don’t give credit for it. If you want to be a true CC’er (or zombie, depending on how you look at it) learn Physics C from another source. Physics C is the last thing i’d want to self study.
