AP Score Delayed - In process Code 96

Hi,

When I went to check my AP scores yesterday, I could see my scores for all the exams I took except for AP Chinese.

Next to that exam, there was this message: “In process - contact us if score not received by 9/1 (code 96)”

During my exam, the whole room had technical difficulties, and we ended up using USBs to record part of the exam. I’m thinking this might be a reason for the delay, but everyone else in the room received their scores already.

Has anybody else had this issue before, and do you know how long it will take for me to get this score?

Thanks!

It happened to a few people last year; they got their scores by the end of July.

mostly for anyone googling this.

Our kid was the only person in the class that didn’t get a score on time for a language - the dreaded code 96. Got scores for all other AP exams. Called in July and made the mistake of not starting an “investigation” . The people on the phone assured me the exam was not lost (I asked), but they couldn’t tell me where it was or what the holdup was.

Waited till Sept 1. The Phone people had no idea what’s going on so they started an investigation. 5 days later they said they found everything but the voice part of the test. (the person at this point is not a phone operator and provides a contact name/#). They had the school resend the data file and rush graded since that is what they said they were missing. My main advice is don’t settle for people on the phone telling you to wait. Ask for an “investigation” (I think is the phrase). Particularly if everyone else has their scores. We could have resolved this in July if they had actually tried to solve the problem and actually bothered to find out in June what was missing. Unless you elevate the situation and get past the phone operators, nothing happens until sept. 1.

In our case we still have a few weeks til applications. But if this happened to a senior and wanted to know if they could place out in college I’d be really pissed.

It happened to us this year in Spanish, and yes my daughter is a senior. When we call they keep giving us the run-around. What should we do?

Just sit tight. It will be released in due course.
