AP Score of 2: Music Theory

I just checked my AP scores and found that I had a 2 in AP music theory. One of the circumstances colleges would only accept one is if it were extenuating circumstances. I need to know a few things, I am really scared to be honest.

  1. Should I still send in a 2? I’ve heard mixed results of “if you take a few AP exams and don’t send in one or two then you should be fine and won’t need to,” “You should send it in because it demonstrates you wanted to challenge yourself,” and “A 2 likely won’t be accepted as college credit anyways.” I was hoping any current college students know something about that.
  2. Would it hurt to send it in if I got a 2? Would colleges see that and think I then don’t even qualify for a course in that topic?
  3. Does Covid-19 count as an extenuating circumstance do you think? Or would it be too optimistic to hope it would count?

I wouldn’t report it unless the college you’re applying to offers credit for a 2.
Colleges will see on your transcript that you challenged yourself because you took the class, you don’t need the test to show them that.
Also, I don’t think Covid would count as an extenuating circumstance since everyone was affected by it but so many kids still passed.

Yes, I would agree that you simply shouldn’t include that score as part of your application.

Every test taker operated under the same COVID-impacted testing process this year.
