AP score of 3 for Berkeley's R1A?

Does the score of 3 for AP Lit or Ap Lang does not exempt you from English R1A?

I am taking an English course equivalent to English R1A/ R1B right now (Eng101). I know that I will receive credit for Freshmen Composition at schools like UCI with my AP scores but if I apply to Berkeley, does that mean that I will have to go back and take an Eng100 course?

Here is what assist.org says:
Engl A100 + (A101 or A101H) = UCB R1A
|+ R1B
|Engl A101 = one-half (Either UCB R1A
|or R1B)
|Engl A101H = one-half (Either UCB R1A
|or R1B)
|Engl A100 DOES NOT equal one-half (UCB
|R1A + R1B)

You may satisfy both halves of the R&C requirement with one of the following scores or grades:

Advanced Placement Exam in English Literature and Composition: 5
International Baccalaureate Examination in English Language, A credential: 5
General Certificate of Education “A” Level English Exam: A, B, or C
You may satisfy the first half of the R&C requirement with one of the following scores:

AP Exam in English Literature and Composition: 4
AP Exam in English Language and Composition: 4 or 5

Thank you

Yes. According to the assist page, it says you need a 4 to satisfy the first half of English.
