AP Score

I took my first AP in sophomore year and got a 3, it was European History. However I am planning on taking eight AP exams this upcoming Junior Year, supposedly if I get 5's on all the eight exams will that "cover up" my 3 in AP Euro...I am nervous because that 3 will hurt my chances of getting admission into Yale!!

Your AP score is relatively unimportant compared to the rigor of your course schedule, your GPA, and your ACT/SAT. You really have no way to even begin to see if you are competitive for Yale without your junior year grades and the ACT/SAT. Please don’t worry at this point if a single AP score can affect your admissions chances. That being said, your sophomore year 3 will mean nothing to the adcoms if you do well with so rigorous a Junior year schedule and with the ACT/SAT. At that point the ECs. LORs, and essays will be looked at to see what you can bring to the table.
